Aiden relished life. He embraced the small joys. He always focused on the good in someone or
something. No matter the circumstances, when a friend reached out in need, Aiden stopped to help. He spent hours listening to friends and counseling them.
Aiden was passionate about random acts of kindness and paying goodness forward. He was known to surprise people with a visit or a treat, without any provocation. Even strangers were helped by his kindness. It was simply his nature.
Aiden graduated from Pickerington North in 2024 and attended Ohio State University, studying Physical Therapy. He was a competitive weightlifter who participated in competitions across the country. Aiden also took junior powerlifters under his wing, helping them craft their talent and hone their skills.
Aiden’s heart belonged to his family and close friends. He was a doting big brother. His sisters, his parents and dog Ace were his world. He had a witty sense of humor and could truly light up a room. His grin was not reserved; it went from ear to ear. He did not hesitate to smile, wave, laugh, love, and show the world that he loved everyone. He never hesitated to tell someone he loved them. His love was unconditional.
Aiden was a regular at I Hop and many of the servers knew him by name and his favorite order – protein pancakes. He would listen to them when they would tell him about their lives. He had the special gift of making people feel comfortable around him and heard.
He was also a lover of Batman. When he was growing up, his dad Jim was his Batman, and he was Jim’s Robin. He was his dad’s trusty side-kick. They spent several days enjoying nature, tubing, boating, fishing, and camping. He was going to be his father’s best man. This was a bond many could easily see.
Aiden often spent afternoons walking the dogs with his mother Gretchen. He always looked out for his mother and his little sisters, Margaret and Addy. His relationship with each of them was endearing to see. He was a great son to his mother and extraordinary brother Margaret and Addy.
He loved life and was provided opportunities to experience the beauty of life. He traveled often, to the local family cabin in Hocking County, “Big Hill” and to another family cabin in PA. He had annual summer vacations at Fripp Island, in South Carolina. He went on cruises in the Caribbean and even went to Turkey with his family twice. He was always grateful for the opportunities his family offered.
Aiden was truly a treasure. He gave more to others in his short life than many do in a lifetime. He gave so freely of himself, every single moment of his life. He was fearless. He was a unifier and a peacemaker.
He was a gift.
We firmly believe, even in his final moments, he was a protector. Now he is one of the angels above
protecting the loved ones he left behind.
Giannh Viars, born December 5, 2003. She was a radiant soul—stunning in every sense of the word. She had long dark brown hair, pearly white skin, and a radiant smile. When Aiden’s mother, Gretchen, met her the Wednesday afternoon before they were tragically murdered, Gretchen lovingly compared her to Pocahontas. It was afterward their deaths, Gretchen found out, Giannh had Native American heritage, something she was proud to be part of her identity.
She worked at Kroger, where she poured her heart into every shift. Her dream was to one day become a general manager—whether at Kroger or another business—driven by ambition and a desire to lead with kindness.
A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Giannh loved the Lord and found comfort in scripture. Her Bible, a constant companion, was found in the seat of her car when she passed—a quiet testament to her unwavering faith.
Giannh adored giraffes and had a tattoo of one with the words “Stand tall” woven into its design. Though petite and sometimes lacking self-confidence, that tattoo was her daily reminder to rise with strength and grace.
Her spirit was vibrant and full of joy. She loved all kinds of music, the color yellow, sunshine, and spending time outdoors. Her two cats were her heart, and she loved them fiercely. She loved everyone she met—truly. Outgoing and full of life, Giannh had a gift for making people laugh, often with her playful jokes and warm energy. She worked hard to make others feel seen, heard, and valued.
Giannh was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her legacy is one of light, laughter, and love—a reminder to stand tall, live boldly, and cherish every moment.

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a silent epidemic affecting millions of lives—often behind closed doors. According to data from the CDC, over 61 million women and 53 million men have endured psychological aggression by a partner. 16 million women and 11 million men first experienced IPV before the age of 18—showing just how early the trauma begins.
Over half of all female homicide victims are killed by a current or former male partner. These aren’t just statistics—they are stories, names, and lives forever altered. The Aiden David Foundation stands in the gap, advocating for awareness, prevention, and healing to ensure that no more futures are stolen by violence. We firmly believe, even in his final moments, he was a protector. Now he is one of the angels above protecting the loved ones he left behind.
