Aiden’s story is tragically not the only one. Since his passing, our community has witnessed far too many heartbreaking events—lives lost to preventable violence, families shattered, and futures stolen. The trauma of murder-suicides, like the devastating loss of Emily Grace Mayo, only deepens our resolve to raise awareness, offer support, and spark change.
“It’s not fair. This world isn’t fair. It wasn’t supposed to be this way… But it is, and here we are—left with the pieces to put back together and try to make sense of it all.”
— from a message exchange shared by someone grieving Aiden
Emily, just 17 years old, was tragically taken from this world when her own father turned a weapon on her—and then himself. Her name, her story, and her memory are now etched into the work we do every day.
